Dr Anna Rooney PT, DPT

Anna graduated from Hunter College in New York City with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1999. She has experience working in hospital, private practice and homecare settings. She became the first acute care supervisor at New York’s Bellevue Hospital before moving to run a newly opened orthopedic practice in Manhattan. She was clinical supervisor there for 9 years and developed a loyal following of patients who she has helped to stay pain-free and functional for many years. Recognizing the need for patient centered holistic care she opened her practice in 2016.

Anna has advanced her clinical skills specializing in orthopedics and spine care, with a strong focus on McKenzie and Maitland techniques. She is also certified in performing ergonomic assessments. Knowing that chronic pain is hugely undertreated, she completed her DPT in 2020 with EIM and in addition, also earned her certification as a Therapeutic Pain Specialist. This additional expertise provides her patients with a holistic care approach.

Anna believes that a patient can only return to a maximum functional level by providing careful and attentive one on one care that incorporates manual techniques; exercises tailored specifically for each patient; and an assessment of the patient’s lifestyle and habits in order to decrease the risk of further episodes.
